David Ellis began his career at eighteen, serving a four-year apprenticeship in an antique restoration workshop. On completing it he went out on his own, working freelance for a number of established restorers and building a reputation across the trade.
Twenty-five years ago he founded Lascombe Hill, and has since worked with a range of leading London designers — a practice built on hand skills learned at the bench and a long familiarity with period furniture and objects.
